What percentage of the world's tonnage which have signed the convention? Convention will enter into force 12 months after 30 countries signed, the combined tonnage of at least 35% of total world tonnage, have ratified it. Until now there are 40 states representing 30.25% of world tonnage have ratified the Convention. Therefore, the world is still waiting for the rest of the tonnage before enactment.

If the convention must be ratified tomorrow, what is the direct impact of short-term and long-term implications for Indonesia? • If this convention into force of tomorrow, the national ship owners who have not done so, need to make the choice of how and when the owner of the vessel must meet the different provisions of the Convention, taking into account the IMO resolution A1088 (28) which gives the flexibility of the schedule of regulation B-3. State party should ensure that the national shipping are able to meet its obligations, for example with regard to the survey and certification, enforcement and communication of information. • For the long term, if the Convention be implemented, then one of the major implications hopefully can reduce aquatic species invasions are very significant and can eliminate the effects of which could harm the environment territorial sea, human health, all national property and resources.
